Founded in 1994, SPC Power Corporation began as a venture by the Salcon Consortium to rejuvenate the 203.8 MW Naga Power Plant Complex in Naga, Cebu through a Rehabilitation, Operation, Maintenance, and Management (ROMM) Agreement with the National Power Corporation.

Since then, SPC has evolved beyond its initial mandate. Today, the company and its subsidiaries operate and manage power generation facilities across the Philippines - ranging from diesel plants in Iloilo and Bohol to coal-fired and thermal plants - while also providing electricity distribution services. In 2002, SPC took the milestone step of listing its shares on the Philippine Stock Exchange.
